July Newsletter!

Monday, June 29th, 2009

July!  How did that happen, seriously…. how is it that time flies so fast?

July has some of my favorite things in it!

  • The 4th of July is my favorite holiday.  I love the parades (which I have to travel to now that I live in Winona and they don’t celebrate the 4th of July here.) and the picnics!  This year it falls on a Saturday and we will be closed, so make sure you plan accordingly if you are planning on scrapping on that weekend.
  • My favorite nephew Sam turns 7 in July, too… so that’s another opportunity to celebrate!

There are a couple of items to be sure to note…

  • We are going to be closed Sundays in July.  Between some unavoidable staffing issues and slower traffic it just doesn’t make sense to stay open…  and NOBODY wants me to work 7 days a week!  That would get ugly in a hurry!  I know there are a few people out there who have a hard time coming in any day other than Sunday, so hopefully this isn’t too inconvenient for them.  I don’t anticipate this being a long term solution!
  • Scrappy Fridays are every OTHER Friday in July (and probably August too) so plan to sign up for the 10th or the 24th today…
  • Don’t forget the Crop ’til you Drop on the 18th… it’s going to be hot, but cool and fun in here, so plan some scrapping time for YOU!!
  • Kid’s Kamp is the 28th (a Tuesday evening) at 6.  Sign up early, Christy’s cards are SO cute!
  • Card Class is THREE times this month (just the way the calendar lays out.)

Enjoy the newsletter…  here.

Moved and Open… newsletter in a day or two!

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Hello!!  We are open in the Mall!!  It is wonderful to be moved, though the amount of work was a bit overwhelming a couple of times.  We closed on Wednesday at 2 (officially), but started packing earlier than that!  We worked long hours Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Not to take away from the appreciation I have for everyone who helped me…I have to say special Thank YOUs to two individuals.  My Dad, Dick King, who is the only person who can completely exhaust me!  He works tirelessly and is a complete perfectionist.  There is no way I could have done this without him.  I love you Dad, Thank You.  Megan Mill.  She practically lived with me for three days straight.  She moved product, cleaned, organized all the volunteers, told me when I was wrong and kept my spirits up when I got a little discouraged.  Above and beyond my dear.  Thank you.

BIG thank yous to all of my good friends who were available to help.  I am listing you… and I just PRAY I don’t forget anyone!  Please forgive me in advance if I do, and call me to tell me, so I can add you!  Alphabetical…

Deb Banicki.  Frank Blahnik.  Mary Clark.  Marilyn DuCett.  Christy and Jeremy Ferrington.  Cyndy and Mark Fremling.  Kathy and Marlin Ghelfi.  Chris King.  Morgen Koenig.  Ruth Korder (here nearly EVERY day!).  Cathy and Dick Mayer.  Jason Mill. Jen & Lorenz Oliver-King.  Stephanie Reed.  Christine Robinson.  Deb Schroeder.  Patty Schuh.  Bev Seppa.  Adam Volkert.  Bryan Volkert.  Chuck Volkert.  Colleen Volkmann.  Cathy Yackel.

From the bottom of my heart… thanks.

Now!  Everyone come see the new store… lots of new stuff too!  :)  (I have the calendar done and will hopefully have a newsletter in a day or two…)

January 2009 Newsletter Ready!!

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Check out the newsletter for our full lineup of classes, for my usual ramblings and a full listing of what you can do to be a part of our move!

2008 is one of those years that many people will be happy to have over!  That’s kind of the consensus from many of our customers, anyway… not that I have taken any formal poll!

I, for one, am very much looking forward to 2009!  Many wonderful changes coming up for us here at Scrapper’s Haven.  Our new space in the Mall is nearly ready for us to start taking things in… I can’t wait to move, reorganize, clean and RESTART!  I love to be organized; it makes it so much easier to create!

Keep in mind that we have lots of LASTS, as well.  So, the transitions might be a little painful for some, although we are concentrating on the GOOD!
